Besides the furniture of the place, which is really bizarre (at the entry there are 2 old but well-preserved confessionals of the nineteenth century which the owner has inherited on her birthday from her great-uncle, a priest) you can taste the best dishes of the local cooking, of the carsic tradition, dishes of fish from the Gulf and the delicacies cooked by our chef according to the season and to his creative impulse.
Everything is handmade, the bread, the pasta, the compotes to be matched with the cheese and the sweets, while all the raw materials are chosen according to standards of high quality with a preference for the small, handicraft productions of the Carso.
In the end, as there is no good food without the right pairing wine, the wine cellare of the restaurant is provided with the most important marks of our region, a land of great wine tradition, and with wines of small, almost unknown local and italian producers.
Our small but accurate hotel, (we have 11 rooms, all with bathroom, satellite-TV, phone) is located in the charming scenery of the Sistiana bay, since the beginning of the century the destination of the Austrian aristocracy who used to spend the summer and autumn months combining baths in the sea with baths in the nearby Roman thermal waters of Monfalcone.

Our structure can be reached from the motorway A4 direction Trieste. After paying the toll at Lisert, go straight on following the speedway direction Trieste. After some Km. follow the indication Duino, at the stop-sign turn left and go on following the main road. After about 2 Km. on the left, in front of the fork that indicates "Sistiana Mare" there are the hotel "Alla Pineta" and the restaurant "Gaudemus".
From the South:
If you come from Trieste we advise you to run along the beautiful, panoramic coastroad of Trieste that connects Trieste to Sistiana running along the sea. After a sharp bend that leads to the little centre of Sistiana, go on for 1 Km towards the beach and in front of the traffic island that indicates the fork "Sistiana Mare", there are the hotel "Alla Pineta" and the restaurant "Gaudemus".
If you arrive in Sistiana from the speedway, go out at Sistiana. At the stop-sign turn right and go on for about 2 Km. After running through the small village of Sistiana with the post-office and the bank on the left, go on for some hundreds meter till the fork on the left. In front of it, on the right you can see the hotel "Alla Pineta" and the restaurant "Gaudemus".
